How to deploy your Flood Guard system
One person, a few minutes per opening. Practice once before hurricane season so it's second nature.
How to deploy the Flood Guard system
- Check the tracks on each side of the opening are clear of dirt, leaves and sand.
- Take the panels for that opening out of storage. They're labelled; start with the bottom panel.
- Slide each panel down into the tracks, gasket side down, until it seats on the one below.
- Put the top cap on and tighten the vertical (top) bolt to press the panels down onto the gaskets.
- Tighten the horizontal (side) bolts on each track to press the panels into the rear gaskets.
- Check the bottom gasket is tight against the floor along the whole width.
How to deploy a center bracket
- For wide openings, put the center bracket in place first, the way your installer showed you.
- Fit the panels into the tracks on each side and into the center bracket.
- Tighten the top caps and bolts on both sections as above.
After the storm: taking it down
Loosen the bolts, lift the panels out from the top down, rinse everything with fresh water, let it dry and store the panels flat with their hardware. Check the gaskets for damage before next season.
